Elpis Mission was born out of compassion and a vision for change. In 2016, David Lee, a missionary from the United States, traveled to Kenya with the aim of preaching and ministering to the local communities. During his time there, he was deeply moved by the realities faced by many individuals, particularly widows and orphans. As he spoke with community members, he received numerous requests for support — not just spiritual but also practical. The needs ranged from housing, food, and school fees to basic clothing.
David’s experiences in Kenya highlighted a significant gap in economic empowerment. He saw that many people were not just seeking short-term relief but a way to sustainably improve their lives. After returning to the U.S., David made it his mission to help these communities in a meaningful and lasting way. He began fundraising efforts to provide homes, food, and Bibles for those most in need, especially widows and vulnerable families. His work through Elpis Mission has since helped bring hope and dignity to many lives in Kenya.
Today, Elpis Mission continues to focus on empowering these communities, ensuring that the most vulnerable have access to the basic necessities they need to thrive. The mission’s ongoing efforts include building homes, providing food supplies, and distributing Bibles, all with the aim of fostering long-term change and economic self-sufficiency. Through these acts of compassion, Elpis Mission seeks to bring hope where it is needed most.
